Booster Club Programs
Overview
No Artist Left Behind: Bridging Program
One of the main goals of C3 is to provide short term financial support for current Katy
Taekwondo Academy (KTDA) students “in need” (Bridging). If a current student, or family
of a current student, falls on hard times, then Bridging assistance will be considered in
order for that student to continue with training or advancement in the KTDA program.
Bridging support will include:
- Testing fees
- Up to two months of monthly fees per request
- Required gear
Students, or families of students, should approach the Chief Instructor of the KTDA (not the
board members), and the Chief Instructor will determine if the request stems from a significant
change in their current financial circumstances. The Chief Instructor will provide the C3 board
with a written recommendation, along with a brief description of the funding request. No names
are required. The Board will approve recommended Bridging requests subject to the limit of the
yearly budget and available funds.
No Artist Left Behind: Continuing Education
Subject to board approval, and budgeted and available funds, C3 will provide financial support
to instructors seeking certification credits and those students in need attending ITA events.
Kick Start: Grads Program
C3 will consider providing college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the KTDA
program. Subject to board approval and available and budget funds, high seniors who are active advanced
black belts in the KTDA program, and members of the C3 booster club,
will be eligible for a one-time payment of up to $500, if accepted into an
accredited college (or other institution of higher education) the same year of high school graduation.
Kick Start: KCM Scholarship Program
One of the main goals of C3 is to fund full and/or partial scholarships to attract new students
from the Katy area that would not otherwise be able to train at the Katy Taekwondo Academy (KTDA).
C3 has partnered with Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) as the sole source network for screening and
recommending these students that qualify. KCM will target students “in need” that they believe
would commit to the training and benefit from the KTDA program.
The C3 board will vote to approve the number of scholarships available and advise KCM. KCM will
screen and provide candidates in need that they believe will uphold the KTDA tenants and flourish
in the program through the ranks to black belt and beyond. The students will sign a contract with
the KTDA which will include a clause requiring the student to meet all minimum requirements of the
program. This contract can be terminated at any time following a four month period of not meeting
the minimum class requirements or other KTDA standards and policies. This scholarship will have a
one year term, which can be renewed with board approval, and will fund: 12 months of fees, one set
of sparring gear at green belt level, one clapper target at blue belt level, one rebreakable board
at red belt level, all testing fees, all board breaking clinics and a maximum of two local tournaments.

Good Form Program: Family Events
One of the main goals of C3 is to organize periodic family events. Ideally, we will hold two per
year.
The first being a back-to-school BBQ in the fall for all KTDA students and families. Subject to
board approval and available and budgeted funds, C3 would provide the facility and the food.
Non-members may attend, but will be encouraged to join or donate at the event.
The second, being a spring banquet for all KTDK students and families. The banquets will serve as
a fun evening to
reflect on our progress and take a look ahead, as well as recognize those that were most involved
in our success throughout the year. Subject to board approval and available and budgeted funds,
C3 would provide the awards and set up costs, and charge per plate at cost.
